Collection: Inverters

5kW to 16kW Single & 3-phase Hybrid & off-grid Generator auto-start App monitoring Melbourne stock

Green Bank sells two inverter ranges, and the right one depends on whether your property has a grid connection. Deye hybrid inverters are CEC-listed and work both on-grid and off-grid — the choice for homes claiming the battery rebate, and for anyone who wants to charge from the grid when power is cheap or free. Green Bank MITS off-grid inverters are our own range: the lower-cost option for stand-alone sites, with every feature you need to run a property with no grid at all.

Deye hybrid inverters — on-grid and off-grid

Deye is one of the world's largest inverter manufacturers, producing around 1,300 inverters a day, and its hybrid range is listed with the Clean Energy Council for Australian grid-connected installs. A Deye hybrid runs your home from solar and battery during the day, draws from the grid only when it needs to, and keeps the lights on through a blackout — the one unit covers grid-connected, hybrid and fully off-grid use.

Charge your battery from the grid for free.
Many Australian retailers now offer a daily free or near-free window — typically a few hours around midday. A Deye hybrid lets you schedule grid charging to that window, so every day your battery fills from the grid at no cost, whatever its size and even in winter when solar alone won't fill it. You then run the house from the battery through the 3pm–9pm peak and overnight, drawing nothing from the grid when it's expensive. If you drive an EV, you can top it up in the free window too. For a 30–50kWh bank that's the difference between a battery that pays for itself in a few years and one that doesn't.
Model Output Suits Price
Deye SUN-5K-SG04 5kW single-phase Standard home battery install; our 3-battery grid package $1,400
Deye SUN-8K-SG05LP1 8kW single-phase Larger homes, 4–5 battery installs, air conditioning $2,200
Deye SUN-12K-SG02LP1 12kW single-phase, 3 MPPTs Large homes, workshops, heavy loads; three independent panel strings for split roofs $3,300
Deye SUN-16K-SG01LP1 16kW single-phase, 3 MPPTs Biggest single-phase loads, small commercial; three independent panel strings $4,400
Deye SUN-8K-SG04LP3 8kW three-phase, PV input up to 800V Three-phase homes and small farms; long high-voltage strings, fewer cables $2,750
Deye SUN-12K-SG04 12kW three-phase, PV input up to 800V Three-phase farms, factories, commercial; up to 18kW of panels $3,499

Prices include GST, exclude delivery. The 12kW and 16kW single-phase units have three MPPT trackers, so panels on three different roof faces each run at their own optimum. The two three-phase units accept PV input up to 800V, which means long strings and less cabling on big arrays. All Deye models carry a 5-year warranty; a 10-year Deye warranty is available for 15% on top of the inverter price — ask when you order.

Green Bank MITS off-grid inverters

Our own MITS range is built for properties with no grid connection, at a lower price than a hybrid. They have everything a Deye offers for off-grid use, plus a few things it doesn't:

  • Generator auto-start — the inverter starts your generator when the battery runs low and stops it when charged, with no one home.
  • Smart port — configurable as the generator input or as a second, timed output. Put the hot-water system on it and run it only when the battery is full, or schedule any appliance to run in the sun.
  • App monitoring — see solar production, battery level and loads from your phone wherever you are.
  • Plug-and-play with every Green Bank battery over CAN bus, and the inverter used in all our pre-wired cabinets.
Model Output Suits Price
MITS6KWLP1 48V 6kW single-phase Most off-grid homes, sheds and cabins — our most popular inverter $770
MITS6KW24V 24V 6kW single-phase, 24V Caravans, buses, tiny homes on wheels — pairs with the LB24350 battery $990
MITS12KWP1 48V 12kW single-phase Large off-grid homes, farms, workshops $1,999
MITS16KWLP1 48V outdoor 16kW single-phase Heavy off-grid loads; outdoor-rated housing $2,900

Prices include GST, exclude delivery. MITS inverters carry a 3-year warranty; extend it in 3-year terms at $375 each, up to two extra terms for 9 years' cover in total. Need 3-phase off-grid? Three MITS single-phase units can be set up as a 3-phase system, but the simpler option is a single Deye 3-phase hybrid — ask us which suits your site.

Which one do I need?

  • Grid connected, adding a battery → Deye hybrid. CEC-listed for the rebate, and the free-window grid charging is worth real money.
  • No grid, or building a stand-alone system → Green Bank MITS. Lower cost, generator auto-start and the smart port are built for exactly this.
  • No grid but want a Deye → also fine; every Deye hybrid runs fully off-grid.
  • Sizing — the inverter rating must exceed the biggest load you'll run at once. A 6kW unit covers a typical home; add air conditioning, a bore pump or a welder and look at 8–12kW. Send us your appliance list and we'll confirm.

Delivery and support

Inverters ship from our Truganina, Victoria warehouse to anywhere in Australia; pick-up is welcome. Set-up help, firmware and warranty claims are handled by our own Australian team — call or email and you'll get an answer from someone who knows the unit.

Inverter questions we get asked

What's the difference between a hybrid and an off-grid inverter?

A hybrid inverter connects to the grid as well as solar and battery, so it can import, export and switch between sources automatically. An off-grid inverter has no grid connection and relies on solar, battery and a generator. Deye hybrids can do both jobs; MITS inverters are off-grid only.

Which batteries work with a Deye inverter?

Every Green Bank battery communicates with Deye over CAN bus — it's the pairing in all our grid-connected installs. Deye also publishes an approved-battery list of 80-plus brands, including BYD, LG, Pylontech, Dyness, Alpha ESS, Fox ESS and Jinko, so if you already own a battery there's a good chance it connects straight in. Ask us and we'll check your model.

Will the inverter keep the power on in a blackout?

A Deye hybrid with a battery switches to backup automatically. A MITS system never notices a blackout because it isn't on the grid.

Do I need a generator?

Off-grid, yes — every stand-alone system should have one, and MITS auto-start manages it for you. On a grid-connected Deye system the grid is your backup.
