Trina Tier 1 475W N-type TOPCon 23.8% efficiency 25-yr product / 30-yr power warranty Dual glass Rail kits available Melbourne stock

Green Bank supplies the Trina Vertex S+ 475W (TSM-475NEG9RH.28) — an N-type i-TOPCon dual-glass monocrystalline panel from a Tier 1 manufacturer, and the panel we fit on our own installs and off-grid packages. It's the Australian-market version with a 25-year product warranty and 30-year power guarantee. Buy panels on their own, as part of a complete system, or with the rail kit and cabling to mount them. Boxes of 36 ship Australia wide from our Melbourne warehouse.

How many panels do I need?

Divide the solar array you want by 0.475. The common sizes:

Array Panels Typically paired with
5.7kW 12 6kW inverter + 10kWh battery — small home or weekender
6.6kW 14 5–6kW inverter + 15kWh battery — the standard family-home size
10.45kW 22 8–12kW inverter — larger homes, electric hot water, workshops
17.1kW 36 12kW 3-phase inverter — farms and commercial

Off-grid, size the array to refill the battery on a winter day — roughly one kW of panels for every 3kWh you use daily, more in the southern states. Every inverter has a maximum PV input (the Deye 12kW 3-phase takes up to 18kW of panels, for example), so tell us your inverter and we'll confirm the ceiling.

Rail kit and cabling

We supply everything between the panel and the inverter so your installer isn't chasing parts:

  • Rails and extenders, roof brackets for tin or tile
  • Mid and end clamps, earthing clips
  • DC isolators
  • MC4 and Y connectors
  • 30m of 4mm PV cable

Rail kits are included in our panel packages and available separately — tell us your roof type and panel count and we'll quote the kit.

Why the Vertex S+

  • N-type i-TOPCon cells, 23.8% efficiency — 475W from a 1762 × 1134mm panel, so fewer panels and less rail for a given array.
  • Dual glass — 1.6mm heat-strengthened glass front and back instead of a plastic backsheet: far less prone to micro-cracks and scratches, and it's what makes the 30-year power guarantee possible. Still only 21kg.
  • Slow degradation — 1% in the first year, then 0.4% a year: guaranteed 87.4% of rated output at year 30. Older P-type panels typically lose 2% then 0.55% a year.
  • Better in heat and low light — temperature coefficient of −0.29%/°C (P-type is around −0.34%), plus validated low-irradiance performance, which is what matters on a winter morning off-grid.
  • Built for Australian roofs — 5,400Pa front / 4,000Pa rear mechanical load, −40°C to +70°C operating range, Fire Safety Class C, IP68 junction box, Stäubli MC4-EVO2 connectors.
  • Tier 1 manufacturer — Trina is one of the largest panel makers in the world, with the financial strength behind a 25-year warranty. Certified to IEC 61215 / IEC 61730 and ISO 9001, 14001, 14064 and 45001.

Solar panel questions we get asked

Can I use these with an existing inverter?

Usually, yes. Any inverter accepts panels within its voltage and current limits — send us the inverter model and we'll confirm the string size and how many panels it will take.

Do I need an installer?

Roof-mounted panels connected to a grid inverter must be installed by an accredited installer. For stand-alone off-grid systems the rules differ by state — many of our customers mount the panels themselves and have an electrician make the final DC connection. Ask us about installation in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

What does the warranty cover?

Two warranties. The 25-year product warranty covers the panel itself against defects. The 30-year power guarantee promises output of at least 99% in year one, falling no faster than 0.4% a year, to 87.4% of rated power at year 30 — one of the slowest degradation curves on the market.

How long will they last?

Beyond the 30-year power guarantee. Dual-glass construction removes the plastic backsheet that ages first on conventional panels, and the inverter and battery are the components you'll replace long before these.
